SWEDISH DESIGN OF INDUSTRIAL CONCRETE PAVEMENTS
View through CrossRef
The use of concrete pavements for industrial purposes has increased in Sweden during recent years. Concrete pavements have high load distribution ability, high wear resistance and can resist long lasting and concentrated loads without permanent deflections. The axle loads may exceed 100 metric tons. Adapting the robust design procedures that are used for highway pavements without changes would lead to very thick and expensive industrial pavements. Consequently, it is mandatory to find possibilities to optimize the design without jeopardizing the good per- formance. The pavement design covers plain concrete, roller compacted concrete, reinforced concrete, and steel fiber reinforced concrete, both with and without bound bases. The paper also deals with the experience of some industrial pavements that have been constructed based on the new design method.

Title: SWEDISH DESIGN OF INDUSTRIAL CONCRETE PAVEMENTS
