APPLICATION OF THE ORFF METHOD IN GUZHENG TEACHING

The article examines the specifics of Carl Orff’s pedagogy in the context of teaching to play the guzheng. The author analyses the general principles of the Orff teaching method and their application in guzheng teaching. Practical recommendations are given on the organisation of classes, their content, the choice of pedagogical technologies, and classroom design. The article is aimed at analysing the use of Orff’s methodology in guzheng classes of Chinese primary schools. A specific example of the use of Carl Orff’s teaching method in guzheng classes in a Chinese primary school is given in the end of the article. The example is accompanied by explanations and musical notations. When teaching guzheng, it is recommended not to limit oneself to the traditional method, but to follow the method of Carl Orff – to beat the rhythm, improvise, discuss melodies and their performance, etc.
