Renal Corpuscle – A Post Mortem Study
View through CrossRef
Abstract
This descriptive type of study was aimed to counting of renal corpuscles in different age groups and comparison as to whether there was difference between different age groups. This study was carried out on 10 autopsied human kidney aged 11 years to 80 years. The collected samples were grouped into A (11-25) years, B (26-40) years & C (41-80) years. 3 slides from group A, 4 slides from group B and 3 slides from group C were randomly selected. Thus in total 30 fields of 10 slides from 10 different kidneys were examined. The difference in average number of renal corpuscle/sq. mm was found to be maximum between groups C and A and minimum between A and B. Number of renal corpuscle become considerably changed with age especially after 40 years.
