Geochemistry of Ruska Poliana granitoids of Korsun-Novomyrhorod pluton of Ukrainian Shield

View through CrossRef
The monograph presents the results of the study of rare-metal granitoids of the Ruska Poliana massif of the Korsun-Novomyrhorod pluton of the Ukrainian shield. The paper highlights the petrographic, mineralogical, petrochemical and geochemical features of the granitoids of the massif, as well as the content and distribution of rare and rare-earth elements in these rocks. Special attention is paid to the study of accessory mineralization of granites of the Ruska Poliana massif. According to the results of these studies, the main minerals-concentrators of rare elements of granites were identified. The Ruska Poliana granites and other rare-metal granites of the anorthosite-rapakivigranite group of the East European platform are compared. In terms of geochemical specialization, the Ruska Poliana granites are similar to the granites of the Kamiani Mohyly complex of the Azov megablock of the Ukrainian shield. On the basis of data on the isotopic composition of strontium in plagioclases and apatites from the Ruska Poliana granites, a conclusion was made about their crustal origin. The age of the granitoids of the Ruska Poliana massif was determined (1758 ± 3 million years), which corresponds to the time of formation of the rocks of the Korsun-Novomyrhorod pluton. The chemical composition of rock-forming and accessory minerals of granitoids of the massif was studied. The results of the work are used within the framework of the scientific topics of the M.P. Semenenko Institute of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Ore Formation. The obtained results were put to practical use in conducting a geological survey of the M-36-XX area by the Northern State Regional Geological Enterprise “Northern Geology and compiling a set of state geological maps on a scale of 1:200,000. For a wide range of geological scientists. Research results can also be used by scientific and industrial organizations involved in the assessment of rare metal ore-bearing prospects of the Ukrainian shield and other regions.
