Madame La Comtesse de Saint Geran. (Francoise Madelaine Claude de Warignes 1667 g.m. Bernhard de la Guiche, Count of Saint-Géran). Full figure to horse. Red brocade dress, black, hip long jacket, gold and silver embroidered, lined with green fabric as well as the dress. Piece scarf and cuffs with blue rosettes. Red hat with a fur board and jewelry. In the hands are sprinkled and rein. Horse with red, gold embroidered saddle cover. In the fund the castle Versailles, the stalls in the foreground. On the canvas: “Me La Comtesse De S.t Geran.” On the back of the canvas: “N57 Pour Monseigr Le Duc Daumont.” In the frame patch: “Princesse Chantillon.” Gilded, carved frame with acanthus leaves. A silvered mussel on either side. The width of the frame list 115 mm. Top of the back of the frame “53” with pencil. New wedged span frame. Double cloth. Equestrian portrait of Francoise Madeleine Claude St.Géran, born de Warignes, with a view of the Palace of Versaille in the Equ. The belongs to a series of six at Skokloster Castle, all the ladies of the French high court on horseback with belviews in the ongs for Louis Marie Victoire, Duc d 'Aumont. The paintings given as a married to or by the Swedish embassy Count Nils Bielke during his paintin Paris 1679-82. The series later lav transtransfrom Bielkes castle at Salsta to Skokloster Castle in 1756. All six paintings bear the option Pour Monseigr Le Duc Daumont on the back of the canvas.
