HAMARTOLOGICAL CONCEPT OF INOKENTIY GIESEL
View through CrossRef
The article is devoted to the religious and historical-theological reflection of the content and leading ideas of the hamartological concept of the Ukrainian spiritual intellectual of the 17th century, one of the brightest representatives of the wing of the traditionalist Hesihat movement – Innokenty Gisel – a Ukrainian Christian thinker of the late modern period, whose religious and theological views had a decisive influence on the formation philosophical thought in Ukraine during the Baroque era. The socio-historical background and features of worldview transformations that determined the dynamics, content and value potential of theological thinking under the influence of theorists and practitioners of hesychasm in ethnic areas of Ukraine are highlighted. Emphasizing the specifics of the religiousphilosophical interpretation of important religious concepts – religious faith, morality and ethics – a religious-theological reflection of Innocent Gisel’s teaching on sin was carried out and an attempt was made to generalize the main approaches to the interpretation of the nature and origin of sins, their classification, etc. At the same time, they serve as indisputable historical evidence of the anti-Ukrainian nationalchurch strategy and the incendiary promotion of the ideology of Moscow as the third Rome, which the Russian Orthodox Church, entering the third millennium, transformed into the heresy of the “Russian measure”. In the conditions of modern challenges and severe trials of the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which is fully approved and supported by Patriarch Kyrylo Gundyaev, this has considerable socio-religious resonance and a request for critical reflection and reassessment. And therefore, the leading idea of the article is also the determination of the valuable role of the influence of hesychasm on the constitution of not only the ideological and religious orientation of thinking, but also on the transposition of hesychia in the monastic community and at the general level of society, which, according to our deep conviction, is of quite important importance, and moreover , when it comes to the development of the spiritual culture of the Ukrainian people and the preservation of their national and religious identity.
