However, the “sound and smoke” was only a season as an independent stage. During this time it moved away from the cabaret and approached the theater when Max Reinhardt continued it. However, a new “sound and smoke” was formed in the basement of Max Reinhardt’s Great Schauspielhaus. In this, Tucholsky performed. From 1919 to 1921 the theater published a magazine. Tucholsky was a member of the Cabaret artistic advisory board, published texts until September 1920 and took over the writing for the June issue.
