Der Kompositionsstil von Luigi Nono (1924–1990) veränderte sich ab Mitte der 1970er Jahre. Weniger die politische Botschaft als vielmehr die klangliche Erkundung schien von nun an im Interesse des Komponisten zu liegen. Doch wird diese Veränderung, die Nonos Spätwerk kennzeichnet, mit der Bezeichnung "Wende", die sich eingebürgert hat, tatsächlich auf den richtigen Begriff gebracht, um das Verhältnis des Politischen zum Ästhetisch-Musikalischen beim späten Nono differenziert zu bezeichnen? Anlässlich des 100. Geburtstags Luigi Nonos spüren die Autoren des Bandes dieser hoch komplexen Frage anhand unterschiedlicher Werke – von "..... sofferte onde serene ..." für Klavier und Tonband (1975/76) bis "Prometeo.
