Phraates IV of Parthia

Abstract Phraates IV, son of Orodes II, was king of the Parthian Empire (38–32 BCE ). After the death of his favourite son Pakoros, Orodes appointed his eldest son as successor to the throne. Phraates immediately killed his father and his twenty‐nine brothers and persecuted the nobility.
