SOLUBILITY AND THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF CODEINE PHOSPHATE IN THE MIXTURES OF POLYETH- YLENE GLYCOL 400 AND ETHANOL AT DIFFERENT TEM- PERATURES

In the present work, the solubility values of codeine phosphate in the binary mixtures of polyeth- ylene glycol 400 and ethanol are determined via a shake-flask method followed by spectrophotometry in the temperature range of 293.2–313.2 K. The attained solubility values of codeine phosphate are correlated with some linear and non-linear co-solvency models. Additionally, the density of saturated mixtures is also presented by the Jouyban-Acree model at various temperatures. The accuracy of each used model is validated by the mean relative deviations (MRD %) of the back-calculated solubility and density data. The apparent thermodynamic properties of codeine phosphate dissolution are also calcu- lated using the van't Hoff and Gibbs equations.
