GenMap: fast and exact computation of genome mappability
View through CrossRef
The (k, e)-frequency counts the number of occurrences of each k-mer with up to e errors in a sequence. We present a fast and exact method GenMap to compute the (k, e)-mappability, which is the elementwise multiplicative inverse of the (k, e)-frequency. It can also be computed on multiple genomes for marker sequences computation or probe design by identifying approximate k-mers that are unique or present in all genomes.

Description:
The (k, e)-frequency counts the number of occurrences of each k-mer with up to e errors in a sequence.
We present a fast and exact method GenMap to compute the (k, e)-mappability, which is the elementwise multiplicative inverse of the (k, e)-frequency.
It can also be computed on multiple genomes for marker sequences computation or probe design by identifying approximate k-mers that are unique or present in all genomes.
