Grenade
View through Europeana Collections
"Grenade" is part of the New Baghdad Museum, an extensive installation that draws its inspiration from the Iraq war, the American invasion, the bombing, looting and organized destruction of the Baghdad Museum. The artist presents the reality of a new museum, where the evidence of terror is now on display: small-scale war artifacts made from newspapers. The New Baghdad Museum is a testimony of the soul, a reading for future generations but also a multifaceted approach to the concepts of violence, war, conflict and the East-West divide, as well as to human destiny and the drama of existence.
