View through CrossRef
The main aim of this study is to investigate the Influence of adverse childhood experience onselfcompassion and self-evaluation among young adults, it also examine the relationship betweenadverse childhood experience, self-compassion and self-evaluation among young adults, it alsoassess adverse childhood experience will predict self-compassion among young adults, lastly, tounderstand if adverse childhood experience will predict self-evaluation among young adults. 365participants were used for this study and were administered test instruments, using Self-Compassion Scale (SCS), developed by Neff, K. D. (2003), Core Self-Evaluation Scale (CSES)developed by Timothy et al, (2003) and Childhood Trauma Questionnaire Short Form developedby (Bernstein et al, 2003). The result of the study revealed that there was a significant positiverelationship between self-evaluation of respondents (r = .376, P<.001) and self-compassion, while,a significant negative relationship was observed between self-evaluation of respondents (r = -.201,P<.001) and adverse childhood experience. Secondly, result of the study revealed that adversechildhood experience did not predict self-compassion given the Beta and P value scores to be (= -.015, P>.05), Furthermore, Adverse childhood experience is responsible for 0% variance in selfcompassion (R square =.000). which implies that Adverse childhood experience has failed toexplain no portion of self-compassion as regards the participants. Thirdly, result of the studyrevealed that Adverse childhood experience independently predicts self-evaluation given the Betaand P value scores to be ( = -.201, P <.001), Furthermore, Adverse childhood experience isresponsible for 4.0% variance in self-evaluation (R square =.040). which implies that Adversechildhood experience is explained 4.0% self-evaluation of the participants. The study thereforeconcluded by positing that individuals who have faced one or several type or forms of adversityduring their formative years often struggle with lower levels of self-compassion, which in turnaffects their self-evaluation processes. Keywords: Adverse Childhood Experience, Self-Compassion, Self-Evaluation and Young Adults.

Description:
The main aim of this study is to investigate the Influence of adverse childhood experience onselfcompassion and self-evaluation among young adults, it also examine the relationship betweenadverse childhood experience, self-compassion and self-evaluation among young adults, it alsoassess adverse childhood experience will predict self-compassion among young adults, lastly, tounderstand if adverse childhood experience will predict self-evaluation among young adults.

which implies that Adverse childhood experience has failed toexplain no portion of self-compassion as regards the participants.
Thirdly, result of the studyrevealed that Adverse childhood experience independently predicts self-evaluation given the Betaand P value scores to be ( = -.
201, P <.
001), Furthermore, Adverse childhood experience isresponsible for 4.
0% variance in self-evaluation (R square =.
040).
which implies that Adversechildhood experience is explained 4.
0% self-evaluation of the participants.
The study thereforeconcluded by positing that individuals who have faced one or several type or forms of adversityduring their formative years often struggle with lower levels of self-compassion, which in turnaffects their self-evaluation processes.
