This article’s main purpose is highlighting the text’s autobiographical basis, that is to say the novel’s numerous references and components which make clear how Norah Lange and the protagonist, Ingrid, identify with each other. All the comments made by the narrator or by the characters are also pointed out; behind those we notice the author’s implicit perspective.
