AbstractA novel synthesis of thiadiazoline derivatives 12 and 14 via treatment of indane‐1,3‐dione‐2‐thiocarboxanilides (5) with hydrazonoyl halides 1 and 2 is reported. Also, active chloromethylene compounds 15 react with 5 to give thiazole derivatives 19. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
