"The hair is treated with combs, some of which are cut from a single piece of wood (Fig. 216), while others consist of intertwined wooden sticks (Fig. 217). The original of Fig. 217 has the same appearance as Fig. 49, but on the handle is ironed a pitch-like substance, in which yellow and black triangles of grass are fixed, so that they form a kind of mosaic."
