In 2015-2016, two salvage excavation seasons were conducted at Horbat Yo'ah (Permit Nos. A-7574, A-7663; map ref. 205826-731/725513-374; Fig. 1), prior to the construction of an additional section of Highway 6. The excavations, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Netivei Israel National Transport Infrastructure Company, were directed by A. Nagorsky, with the assistance of Y. Amrani and E. Bachar (administration), E. Shukron and D. Kirzner (area supervision), M. Kahan, R. Mishayev and R. Liran (surveying and drafting), A. Peretz (field photography), Y. Nagar and V. Eshed (physical anthropology), E.C.M. van den Brink (pottery) and Y. Regev from Weizmann Institute of Science (sediment analysis). Further assistance was provided by P. Gendelman and archaeologists from the IAA Haifa District.
