Este artigo busca refletir sobre tradução da Ilíada de Carlos Alberto Nunes para a língua portuguesa e de certa forma apresentar-lhe uma introdução. O estudo será guiado principalmente por textos do próprio tradutor a respeito de seu trabalho, com o objetivo de encontrar os motivos para a escolha da Ilíada, a visão que o tradutor tinha de Homero (e da própria Ilíada), como foi o processo tradutório e o que ele pretendia com a tradução.
