Deglobalization: the crisis of neoliberalism and the movement towards a new world order

The monograph is devoted to the problems of deglobalization of the modern economy in the context of the post-crisis recovery of the global economy from 2009 to the present. It is determined that deglobalization is characterized by the strengthening of the protectionist policies of states, the tightening of sanctions regimes, and the development of military conflicts. These trends lead to a relative decrease in the intensity of global trade and global capital flows, and also cause a crisis of regional integration in different parts of the world. The most common approaches of modern researchers to the issue of deglobalization are systematized. It has been established that expectations of a rapid return of the global economy to the previous trajectory of globalization have not been fulfilled. It is shown that the COVID-19 pandemic has intensified the processes of disintegration in the global economy. This was caused not only by the objective needs of combating the spread of the virus, but also by the objectives of stimulating the policy of states to overcome the consequences of the lockdown. It is concluded that modern capitalism is going through a process of struggle of the largest states for the place of the hegemon of the world economy, the change of which will mark the beginning of a new systemic cycle of capital accumulation. Global dominance can be achieved by developing a country's technological leadership within the framework of the sixth technological order.
