Lake Baikal exploration using deep manned submersibles

The article considers results of studying Lake Baikal using the Deep manned submersibles (DMV) "MIR-1" and "MIR-2", which were carried out during 2008-2010. Data on the geological structure of Baikal and its biological activity are presented, that are based on the visual observations of scientists and on results of the measurements and analyzes of samples.
