Volition refers to the intentionality of an action, and specifically whether the subject or the agent intended the action or not. It is marked linguistically in a language and there is no universal way of marking volition. In addition, it can be expressed by, for example, using adverbs, grammatical morphemes in the form of affixes, or case markings.
