Corrosion Resistance of Electroless Nickel Fluorocarbon Composite Coatings

View through CrossRef
Abstract Electroless Nickel (EN) Fluorocarbon composite coatings, specifically EN/CFX provide a self-replenishing layer of hard, low coefficient of friction sub-micron particles in an electroless nickel matrix. The results of ASTM B117 testing to determine the performance of this composite coating as well as EN/PTFE composites and conventional electroless nickel will be reported. Corrosion testing has shown the composite coatings to perform in a comparable manner to conventional electroless nickel/phosphorus deposits while also maintaining a low coefficient of friction.
