Il restauro del soffitto di Giambattista Tiepolo a Palazzo Sandi: un ‘volto nuovo’ ritrovato

The contribution illustrates the restoration of the ceiling frescoed by Giambattista Tiepolo in Palazzo Sandi in Venice. It retraces the historical and documentary information on the building, the critical history of the work from stylistic and iconographic perspectives deepening its connection with the client. It also reconstructs the conservation history of the cycle, and describes the carried out intervention, which allowed the recovery of the colours hidden by previous interventions and the discovery of an unprecedented detail.
