Arrival in Mississippi

In the 1840s, W. C. Falkner at last arrived to Ripley, Mississippi as a young man with little to no cash or belongings in the hopes of meeting relatives and making something of himself. His uncle, Jeff Word, along with several other aunts, uncles, and cousins, all lived in the Pontotoc and Ripley areas. Various family connections to the Ripley Advertiser , Mississippi Union Bank, and other Ripley institutions are noted.
