Paysages lus du ciel est un ouvrage dédié au professeur André Humbert qui, depuis un demi-siècle pratique la géographie au moyen de l’observation aérienne.Survolant notamment la France, l’Espagne et le Maroc, André Humbert a analysé des milliers de paysages résultant de l’empreinte humaine à la surface de la Terre. Les photographies obliques éclairent les mises en scène paysagères, expliquent la sécrétion des structures agraires et la morphologie des villes, font découvrir les palimpsestes ; bref tout ce qui fait patrimoine en étant lu du ciel.Par diverses approches les contributeurs à cet ouvrage ont voulu rendre hommage à l’œuvre novatrice du professeur Humbert en montrant la valeur irremplaçable pour la géographie de cette méthode d’étude des paysages. Richement illustré, cet ouvrage est aussi une invitation à la découverte de paysages variés et parfois insolites.
