Epsilon Nielsen fixed point theory

AbstractLet "Equation missing" be a map of a compact, connected Riemannian manifold, with or without boundary. For "Equation missing" sufficiently small, we introduce an "Equation missing"-Nielsen number "Equation missing" that is a lower bound for the number of fixed points of all self-maps of "Equation missing" that are "Equation missing"-homotopic to "Equation missing". We prove that there is always a map "Equation missing" that is "Equation missing"-homotopic to "Equation missing" such that "Equation missing" has exactly "Equation missing" fixed points. We describe procedures for calculating "Equation missing" for maps of "Equation missing"-manifolds.

Stable transfer and expression of exogenous human globin genes in human erythroleukemia (K562) cells.
To study the expression of globin genes in human cells, human epsilon-globin genes were transferred into a K562 cell line, Bos, which synthesizes very low amounts of epsilon-globin...

Sparse juntas on the biased hypercube
We give a structure theorem for Boolean functions on the $p$-biased hypercube which are $\epsilon$-close to degree $d$ in $L_2$, showing that they are close to sparse juntas. Our s...
