View through CrossRef
The article presents a comparative analysis of international maritime transport routes – the Northern Sea Route (NSR) and the Southern Sea Route (SMP). The article analyzes the competitive advantages and disadvantages of the Northern Sea Route in comparison with the Southern Sea Route. Based on the study of the main logistics characteristics of sea arteries: length, climate, economic risks in the northern and southern directions of sea cargo transportation, a conclusion is made about the potential of the Northern Sea Route. The possibility of redistributing part of the international cargo transportation currently carried out along the Southern Sea Route to this direction is being considered.
