Office bunting

View through Europeana Collections
Offices aren't the most exciting spaces: usually the walls are painted a neutral colours, the desks are functional, the furniture is simple. Especially in museums, where I've worked, the offices are tucked away in corners of the buildings; the premium space is for visitors. So I decided to add some more personality to mine and my colleagues' offices by making colourful bunting. I gathered together some digital images of the collections, printed theses onto some colourful paper, shaped, tied to some string and put above our desks. They're one of the first things that people notice when they come into the offices - a cheerful and colourful addition to the rooms. And I'm happy to say, even three years after I've left, the bunting still hangs and is still being admired.
