Portrait Elisabetta Du Parc, nicknamed La Francesina (-1778)

Portrait of Elisabeth Duparc. The French soprano appears on this sheet as a half figure facing to the right, turning his head to the left and holding her slightly oblique and facing the front. Her right hand flips through a notebook that holds her with her left hand. She wears an open-hearted dress and her hair pointed upwards. The background is indefinite. The singer performed in several premieres and performances of the oratorios and operas Georg Friedrich Händels, for example at the premiere of Saul. Before she sang in London from 1736, she enjoyed training in Italy and was present in Florence in the 1730s. The leaf is a scabbard, only the notes in the booklet are engraved. There you read: “(...) lla fei amabi = le speranza.” Further copies of the paper can be found in the British Museum and the Austrian National Library in Vienna.
