Grønlands Teaterhistorie – på vej
For første gang foreligger der med denne publikation et bud på en afdækning af Grønlands teaterhistorie.
Grønlands teaterhistorie er meget omfattende og kan dateres tilbage til 1820rne. Landets teaterhistorie tegnes af såvel skrevne som mundtlige kilder. Ligeledes består Grønlands teaterhistorie af en udbredt praksis med performativ fortællekultur. De involverede skuespillere og performere, amatører såvel som professionelle, udgør samlet set en form for kompleks tradition, hvis repertoire fortsætter i nyere tid.
I Grønlands Teaterhistorie – på vej præsenterer redaktionsgruppen, som kommer fra Norge, Danmark og Grønland, sammen med flere andre bidragsydere forskellige sider ved grønlandsk teater- og performance. Med vægt på en historiografisk fremstilling af den grønlandske teaterhistorie søger udgivelsen at rette en større opmærksomhed på dette kæmpe kultur- og kunstlandskab, som gennem 200 år har bidraget til styrkelse af den grønlandske kultur.
