The Ethical Dimension of Using Artificial Intelligence Tools and Applications in the Education Process: A Philosophical Approach

View through CrossRef
Our world today is witnessing an unprecedented technological revolution—namely, the rise of artificial intelligence and its abundant applications that are sweeping across all aspects of life, asserting their dominance and power under the pretext of precision in results and speed in performance. This invasion of AI applications has affected numerous fields, as previously mentioned, which were once the exclusive domain of humans—such as healthcare, media, and even education. And here lies the crux of the matter: education, a field intrinsically linked to the human self and deeply rooted in its various dimensions—be they psychological, social, or anthropological. However, with AI encroaching upon this domain, education has begun to deviate from its original purpose—focusing on the human being—toward a system that prioritizes the rapid and smooth delivery of knowledge and information to learners through modern machine-learning tools. Thus, we now face a dichotomy in learning: human learning versus machine learning. The topic of this research paper aims to answer the following question: What are the limits of interaction between the philosophical approach and the developments of artificial intelligence? Is it possible to build an ethical educational model that ensures a balance between technological advancement and the preservation of human values within a more effective educational framework? To address this issue, the paper adopts a methodology based on analysis and comparison—specifically, analyzing and comparing philosophical perspectives. Among the main objectives of this study is to shed light on the ethical and value-related implications of using AI tools in learning. It emphasizes the urgent need to raise awareness about the dangers of excessive reliance on these technologies. As for the key findings, one of the most important is the need to regulate the use of artificial intelligence tools in education. Additionally, the study advocates for a balanced integration of machine learning and human learning, reaffirming the vital role of the teacher and aiming for more efficient education. Abstract: Our world today is witnessing an unprecedented technological revolution—the revolution of artificial intelligence and its abundant applications, which are now permeating all aspects of life, asserting their authority and power under the guise of accuracy and speed. And is it possible to build an ethical educational model that ensures a balance between technological progress and the preservation of human values within a more effective educational framework? To answer this question, this paper will rely on an analytical and comparative methodology, that is, analyzing and comparing philosophical information and concepts. As for the results, one of the most important is to raise awareness of the importance of regulating the use of artificial intelligence mechanisms in education, in addition to working to reconcile, as much as possible, machine learning with humanistic learning, thus emphasizing the role of the teacher and achieving more effective education

Title: The Ethical Dimension of Using Artificial Intelligence Tools and Applications in the Education Process: A Philosophical Approach
Description:
This invasion by these applications has swept through several fields, as previously mentioned, that were once the exclusive domain of humans, including health, media, and even education.
And here lies the crux of the matter: this last field, considered one of the most closely linked to the human self and the most comprehensive in its dimensions—psychological, social, and anthropological.
However, with the intrusion of artificial intelligence into this field, education has begun to deviate from its fundamental purpose of focusing on the human self, instead concentrating on imparting a set of knowledge and information to learners quickly, easily, and seamlessly through the use of modern machine learning mechanisms.
Here, we are faced with a duality in learning: human learning versus machine learning.
The subject of this research paper is to attempt to answer the following question: What are the limits of interaction between the philosophical approach and the developments in artificial intelligence? And is it possible to build an ethical educational model that ensures a balance between technological progress and the preservation of human values within a more effective educational framework? To answer this question, this paper will rely on an analytical and comparative methodology, that is, analyzing and comparing philosophical information and concepts.
Among the objectives we seek through this study is to highlight the ethical and value-based implications of using artificial intelligence mechanisms in learning, as it is essential to raise awareness of the dangers of excessive use of these tools.
As for the results, one of the most important is to raise awareness of the importance of regulating the use of artificial intelligence mechanisms in education, in addition to working to reconcile, as much as possible, machine learning with humanistic learning, thus emphasizing the role of the teacher and achieving more effective education.
