Una aproximación a la educación zapatista en el periodo de 1916-1917

This article is framed in the context of the Mexican Revolution and presents the mechanisms that the movement led by Emiliano Zapata used to bring education to the communities and towns loyal to the Liberation Army of the South during the war with Carranza.  Through a series of documents, the complex work that the zapatista leaders carried out in the field of education is presented, from the legal structure to the adversities faced by the zapatista Public Instruction program, such as teacher payment, school desertion, and the constant back-and-forth with the municipal authorities responsible for establishing the schools.  It is worth mentioning that the period presented, 1916–1917, exemplifies a clear objective on the part of the zapatista revolutionaries that can be assessed by means of the documentary review carried out.
