The Direction of Female Taekwondo Leaders for the Development of Taekwondo in Leisure Sports

This study aims to identify the roles and directions of female Taekwondo instructors for the development of Taekwondo and to propose improvement measures. To achieve this objective, a qualitative study was conducted with eight participants who have more than 10 years of experience in one of three areas related to recreational Taekwondo: university professors, dojang masters, and recreational Taekwondo instructors. Data were collected through literature review and in-depth interviews, and the research findings were analyzed using inductive category analysis, thematic coding, and expert meetings. The roles were categorized into two main areas: within-dojang activities and outside-dojang activities. Specifically, within-dojang roles included seven sub-factors: assisting with changing clothes, helping with bathroom use, physical contact during instruction, organizing dojang events, mental care, character education, and program development. Outside-dojang roles included three sub-factors: consultation for new enrollees, student management, and parent management.
