Gold finger ring found near Peterborough

The item is a cutting or proof from the Archaeological Journal (see Bibliography).The drawing shows a gold ring with two bezels engaved and inlaid with niello, one with three interlocking triangles, and the other with interlocking circles. It is thought to be of late Saxon date. It was found at Peterborough in the River Nene.
