Annotated Bibliography

This chapter discusses the main phases characterizing anti-windup research and lists a number of relevant publications for each one. This annotated bibliography covers topics such as the anti-windup problem, constructive and general anti-windup techniques, the call for more rigorous and general solutions to the anti-windup problem, and the introduction of modern anti-windup solutions. The chapter also provides a classification of modern anti-windup schemes where the different contributions are grouped based on the underlying compensation architecture, such as reference and measurement governors, model recovery anti-windup designs, and direct linear anti-windup designs based on linear matrix inequalities. Finally, it considers additional references that are not directly related to anti-windup design but are nevertheless relevant in some anti-windup design contexts; these include papers addressing nonlinear systems with saturation.
