The Limerick Mitre

The drawing shows the front of the mitre and its pendants. The mitre is of thin silver gilt decorated with flowers composed of seed pearls and inset with precious and semiprecious stones. It has an enamelled inscription giving the date 1418, and mentioning Cornelius O'Dea, the bishop who commissioned it. The pendants of the mitre are decorated with a depiction of the Annunciation.
