Frost heave model calculations for the Calgary frost heave test facility
View through CrossRef
Frost heave calculations using the Segregation Potential (SP) model and the Incremental Ice Segregation (DISR) model are compared ta the observed frost heave data from chilled pipeline sections at the Calgary Frost Heave Test Facility. Madel calculations are
performed with the measured temperature gradients and measured frost depths for a range of SP values (detennined by laboratory tests) and a range of DISR parameters. Frost heave calculations combining the SP model with thermal gradients and frost bulb depths detennined by thermal simulation models
are also presented.

Increased frost-heaving hazard of synthetic water repellent soil
Synthetic water-repellent soil is often used to mitigate frost heave hazards in cold regions due to its ability to reduce water transportation. However, the frost heave deformation...

Process-Based Indicators for Timely Identification of Apricot Frost Disaster on the Warm Temperate Zone, China
Abstract
Frequent occurrences of extreme cold weather processes create severe agricultural/forest frost events, even given the background of global warming. In the warm tem...
