Parasol, with wood and horn worked stem. Brown silk cover, with scalloped edge, on which a brown silk edge sewn in arch form, of in three rows wrinkled band in scallops cut. The same border around the button on the cover. Cream silk lining with scalloped edge and stamped floral design. On the deck a long horn button on which a cord with two brown tassels. Baleen spokes with small horn buttons. Stem of wood, with the lower part of horn in five carved links.‖ When closed, the parasol was carried by the knob in the hand.‖ The parasol fits the fashion around 1870-1880, with lots of ruffles, borders and scallops.
