RECENT TRENDS IN ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICOLOGY

View through CrossRef
Environmental toxicology is an evolving discipline that addresses the intricate relationships between environmental pollutants and their effects on ecosystems, wildlife, and human health. Over recent decades, rapid industrialization, urbanization, and technological advancements have significantly altered the global environment. The introduction of new chemicals, pollutants, and synthetic materials has compounded the challenges we face in mitigating their adverse effects. Consequently, understanding the dynamics of environmental contaminants has become critical in devising strategies to protect public health and biodiversity. Recent Trends in Environmental Toxicology book aims to provide an updated compendium of knowledge in this growing field. It presents a comprehensive overview of current research, methodologies, and innovations that are driving the understanding of environmental pollutants, their mechanisms of toxicity, and their long-term impacts. The chapters compiled herein focus on diverse aspects of toxicological research, including the study of heavy metals, pesticides, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and novel synthetic compounds, while also exploring the advancements in analytical methods and bio-monitoring tools. In addition, this volume addresses emerging areas of concern, such as microplastics, nanomaterials, and climate change, which exacerbate toxicological risks. As researchers continue to explore the intricate pathways through which environmental contaminants interact with biological systems, we hope this book will serve as both a reference and inspiration for scientists, policymakers, and students involved in toxicology, environmental science, and public health. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the contributors whose cutting-edge research and insights form the backbone of this volume. Their work highlights the complexities of environmental toxicology and points the way forward toward sustainable solutions and preventive measures. With the rising global awareness of environmental issues, the insights provided in this book will, we hope, inspire new research initiatives and policies aimed at safeguarding the environment and public health for future generations.
