Album of designs painted by Alexandra, Princess of Wales, incorporating photographs, 1866-1869

Collage album consisting of albumen photographs arranged and adhered to twenty-nine hand-coloured pages by Queen Alexandra (1844-1925), when Princess Alexandra of Wales. This is one of two similar albums on which the Princess worked in the 1860s, which display her skill as a watercolour painter and designer. The other, which was unfinished, is now in the collection at Frederiksborg Castle, Denmark. The floral design includes photographs of the Princess's four elder children.
