Two lions
View through Europeana Collections
This pair of lions, with two others (now in the Hermitage, Saint Petersburg), originally supported a bronze baptismal font shaped like a large bucket. Fonts such as these are known in churches in Lübeck and elsewhere in northern Germany. The unknown coats of arms are probably those of the patrons who commissioned the font.
