The scientific journal Acta Biologica Slovenica (ABS) is the main publication of the Slovenian Biologists' Society, with a tradition dating back more than 70 years to 1952, when its predecessor, Biološki vestnik, began publication. The journal was given its current name in 1997, gradually transitioned to publication in English, thereby increasing its international recognition, and is now published exclusively in open access online format. ABS publishes original and review scientific articles from all fields of biology, supports the development of Slovenian technical terminology, and brings together contributions from domestic and foreign researchers, while maintaining high editorial and scientific standards.
