Graffiti zwischen Kunst und Ärgernis: empirische Studien zu einem städtischen Problem

"Through their actions, scavengers create the phenomenon of graffiti. A central research question is therefore “Why spray sprayers?” The perception of graffiti in a city is also determined to a large extent by the homeowners' reaction to the phenomenon of graffiti. The speed of the removal of graffiti determines the durability of the visibility of graffiti. The response of homeowners can be active or fatalistic. Whether graffiti becomes normal is co-constituted with this mode of reaction. An important research question is therefore “When do homeowners eliminate graffiti?” A third social group is the audience we all belong to. “What does the audience think of graffiti?” Does graffiti feel more like art or annoyance? The public can ask the state to intervene in this field of action. The strongest state interventions result from the illegalization of graffiti and the punishment of its attachment. Theoretically, it is also possible to regulate the actions of homeowners. The aim of the following studies is to answer these three guiding questions (and their subquestions). The studies reported present the results of a teaching research project. Within the framework of the module “Methods I: Survey techniques of empirical social research” 120 students, supported by a lecture and four exercises in 31 working groups, conducted various empirical studies on graffiti."(extract). Title: Graffiti zwischen Kunst und Ärgernis: empirische Studien zu einem städtischen Problem
Description:
Within the framework of the module “Methods I: Survey techniques of empirical social research” 120 students, supported by a lecture and four exercises in 31 working groups, conducted various empirical studies on graffiti.
