Cyclic peptides represent a unique class of biomolecules characterized by enhanced structural rigidity, metabolic stability, and target specificity compared to their linear counterparts. This review explores the fundamental aspects of cyclic peptide structure and synthesis, highlighting the diverse cyclization mechanisms. We examine their functional roles across natural and synthetic systems.
