Application of development seismic technology for mudstone interlayer detection in LD oilfield

According to the difficulty of mudstone interlayer detection, we proposed a way to detect mudstone interlayer utilizing multiple development seismic technologies. Firstly by seismic petrophysics and seismic modeling, geophysical response characteristics of mudstone interlayer are observed in order to provide theoretical guidance for mudstone interlayer interpretation. Then using high-resolution technique to enhance seismic data resolution, it lays the foundation for mudstone interlayer description. After that, lithology inversion, seismic attribute and time-frequency analysis techniques are used to describe the spatial distribution of mudstone interbeds. Meanwhile combined the research of geology and reservoir, geological interpretation can be carried out for mudstone interlayer, which is finally applied to oilfield development. The mudstone interlayer detection technique was applied to characterize the mudstone interbeds in LD Oilfield development, BoHai Sea. According to the distribution of mudstone interbeds, oilfield development program has been optimized and adjusted. Actual development wells indicate that predicted results of mudstone interbeds are consistent with the actual drilling and the oilfield achieves efficient development.
