Making Data Accessible but Safe

During the RAMP program, our mentee group spent a great deal of time discussing how stakeholders can establish data governance, manage access requests to data and ultimately how that access is reviewed, approved and applied. Join us for an overview on data governance and management at a R01 research institution. Here at K-State, we have a streamlined request process. Upon review, data access is given based on position and needs of the requestor. That access is granted both within the PowerBI Service as well as through a secure Microsoft Sharepoint site. The structure and order of the Sharepoint site reflects the distinct access levels we've identified. For those just getting starting, the concept of making data accessible but safely governed and stored can be a bit challenging.
