NoSQL Security in Web Application
View through CrossRef
The revolution in the amount of generated information has recently motivated the manufacturers of smartphones, tablets, and PCs for continuous development to lead to an increase in connected devices, which have become the largest source of data, and the worldwide success of social networks. The biggest social networks and significant Internet players like Facebook, Twitter, Google, and Amazon were the first to face these huge amounts of data “at the Internet scale” and devised adaptive solutions to overcome this situation and strive to launch new social network platforms such as the Threads platform. On the other hand, the latest advancements in cloud computing and Web Applications have created the need to store larger volumes of data in addition to the need for high availability, scalability, and security. Consequently, many businesses began adopting different types of nonrelational databases, which are referred to as NoSQL “Not only SQL” databases. NoSQL database systems do not use only SQL as a query language and usually do not have a schema, and they come with looser consistency models than traditional relational databases; there are many product vendors for NoSQL database systems, and many of them are open-source. However, some security issues appeared when applying NoSQL databases, the most important of which was injection attacks.
