ROBOTICS AS ONE OF THE TOOLS OF IMPLEMENTATION OF STEM-EDUCATION

View through CrossRef
The article is dedicated to the implementation of educational robotics as a component of STEMeducation in the New Ukrainian School learning process. Robotics is a versatile educational tool suitable for all ages, from elementary school students to university students and researchers. Studying robotics creates conditions for the students' personal socialization and provides opportunities for their continuous technical education. The use of educational robotics allows to detect students' technical talents on the early stage, develop them, and form their STEM-competencies overall. The analysis shows how, by studying this course, students learn to process and interpret information, analyze data, think critically, develop creativity, engineering thinking, and communication skills. The article offers an analysis of theoretical information on the current state of educational robotics development and implementation in the educational process. It determines that the form of educational activity used during the course has many advantages, such as high effectiveness in knowledge acquisition and skill formation, increased productivity, formation of cooperation skills, and others. It is established that students who study robotics become self-confident, demonstrate their creativity and creative thinking, develop research skills, as well as responsibility, patience, organization, diligence, and many other positive personal qualities. The authors characterize the concept of educational robotics and justify the purpose and main tasks in its implementing into the institutionalized educational process. The authors cond ucted a separate analysis of the deve lopment and implementation of robotics in the Ukrainian educational process, indicating that in Ukraine, the development of educational robotics within the educational process occurs episodically at the subject level, in teaching computer science and ICT, in extracurricular education, i.e. the systematic approach is currently absent. Therefore, implementing robotics in the educational process and developing educational programs are of crucial importance.
Title: ROBOTICS AS ONE OF THE TOOLS OF IMPLEMENTATION OF STEM-EDUCATION
Description:
The authors cond ucted a separate analysis of the deve lopment and implementation of robotics in the Ukrainian educational process, indicating that in Ukraine, the development of educational robotics within the educational process occurs episodically at the subject level, in teaching computer science and ICT, in extracurricular education, i.
e.
the systematic approach is currently absent.
Therefore, implementing robotics in the educational process and developing educational programs are of crucial importance.
