This railway poster was produced by the London & North Eastern Railway in the 1930s. It features an image of the town of Knaresborough, and declares: 'Knaresborough // It's Quicker by Rail'. 'It's Quicker by Rail' was a slogan widely used by the LNER following the 1923 appointment of William Teasdale as its advertising manager. Teasdale belived in the power of poster advertising and commissioned a number of well-known artists to design them. This poster was designed by Guy Seymour Malet (1900-1973) and printed by Haycock Press, of London.
