Celadon bowl (sabal type) in a wooden box with lid. Bowl is wrapped in a textile cloth. The bowl is decorated with an incised horizontal line on the interior, below the lip. Marks from six clay pads on the footrim. Inscription on the lid of the box, right top: 靑磁鉢 (cheongja bal = celadon bowl); lower left: possibly 京都 ?作 (淸) (gyeongdo ? jak (cheong) = Gyeongdo means capital city, could refer to the city of Kyoto (京都). During the Joseon period (1392-1910), this name was also used for the Korean capital Seoul.
